The banns were first called on 14 September 1817. Hannah’s brother Jonathan, and his fiancé Charlotte Knapp stood for them at the wedding, they themselves married on 25 December and James stood for them.
James ALGAR and Hannah DADY had the following children:

2. James ALGAR was born about 1821 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. He died in 1823 in Norwich, Norfolk, England.
3. Charles ALGAR was born about 1824 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. He died on 01 Oct 1898 in St. Faiths, Norwich, England (in Asylum). He married Susannnah “Susan” TUFFS between Jan-Mar 1852.
4. Stephen ALGAR was born in May 1826 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. He died in Jun 1846 in Norwich, Norfolk, England.
5. Abraham ALGAR was born on 20 Mar 1829 in Norwich, Norfolk, England. He died in Apr 1831 in Norwich, Norfolk, England.
He lived on Sun Lane, St Clement, Norwich, Norfolk, England5 in 18415. James was working as a shoemaker. At that time, John, Charles and Stephen were all living at home.
In 1851, he was still working as a shoemaker, a journeyman. He lived at Tubby’s Yard, St. Mary of Coslany in Norwich, Norfolk, England6 in 18516. John and Charles were still living there (Stephen having died in the intervening time).
Hannah died in 1858 and sometime after that, James stopped working and moved to the workhouse.
He died on 21 Feb 18662 in Norwich, Norfolk, England2 of natural decay. He was listed as living in the workhouse in West Wymer in Norwich.
