[6] My dear Sir
[7] In a letter to me
[8] from the Rev. John Nice

[10] Jan 20th 1868, the Committee
[11] gave their unqualified sanction
[12] to my marriage with Miss
[13] Woods. On April 24th 1868
[14] the marriage was solemnized

[2] following Mrs. Tomlinson
[3] and I arrived at our station.
[4] In the Notice of the amount
[5] set apart by the Society
[6] to be expended on this mission
[7] forwarded to my brother
[8] missionary Mr. Duncan
[9] my salary is set down as
[10] £150 the same as for 1868
[11] Mr. Duncan has written
[12] to you on the subject as
[13] both he and I were under

[1] the impression that an
[2] increase in my salary should
[3] take place on my marriage
[4] Will you kindly inform
[5] him whether there is to be
[6] an increase from £150 to
[7] £200 per annum. and
[8] if so from what date it
[9] is to commence, whether
[10] from the day of marriage
[11] April 24th or from the day
[12] of our arrival at our station
[13] May 20th.

[1] I have just learned
[2] that my letter acquainting
[3] the Committee with the that
[4] my marriage had taken
[5] place has been unavoidably
[6] delayed.
[7] Believe Me
[8] Yours very sincerely
