- To follow with one heart and mind what is written in God’s word and to glorify God.
- To love one another and to acknowledge all who love the Lord in sincerity as brethren, and to deal lightly with all men.
- To be peaceful, lawabiding citizens and to advance in the ways of Civilization.
To assist us in Carrying out these principles in practice we agree to the following eight points.
- To acknowledge the Trinitie God as our Father Saviour and Comforter. To receive his written Word contained in the books of the Old and New Testament as given by him as a guide and light and to hold it precepts to be binding on us.
- To regulate our own form of worships, provided that nothing is introduced contrary to the letter or spirit of the Written Word.
- To use only the forms so agreed when in public worship and that no one may introduce or use anything else until the same has been examined and approved of by at least a three-fourth majority of all members who are in good standing at the time.
- To observe Sunday as our Sabbath and in accordance with God’s law, rest on that day ourselves, and to use our best efforts that all in our houses whether residents or only visitors shall rest also.
- To attend the public services held on the Sabbath and at other times and to bring those in our houses with us.
- That no members of the Settlement shall return or introduce any heathen or immoral custom or practice and if through ignorance or other cause he may have done so he shall immediately discontinue it when his attention has been called to it.
- That, to avoid idleness and its profits, we will endeavour to employ our time usefully and to avail ourselves of every means of instruction. And see that our children attend school.
- To advance in cleanliness in our persons, our houses, and our village.
