According to the marriage records of William Ross and Alice Halliday in 1886, both of his parents were deceased.
We are assuming they were of full age when William was born and are therefore estimating that they were born before 1837.
As William was born in Ireland, it is likely that both of his parents were born there.
Unfortunately, until more research is completed, that is all the information we have available.
