[4] My dear Mr. Fern
[5] The latest account from
[6] Canada seems to point to
[7] the early approach of the
[8] severe weather. If this should
[9] be so I may be able to get
[10] up on the ice some weeks
[11] sooner than I had expected
[12] and I think it may be
[13] wise to make a start next
[14] week if I can arrange
[15] matters in time.
[16] Will you kindly let me
[17] know. 1st if you can have
[18] the letters for B[isho]p and
Page 2
[1] Mr. Duncan ready by next
[2] Tuesday. 2nd if you think
[3] it will be necessary for me
[4] to go to England to meet the
[5] Committee or yourself
[6] before I leave.
[7] If you think it’s necessary.
[8] I could leave here in time to be
[9] at Salisbury Square on Tuesday
[10] next. Get my instructions
[11] and also the letters for and
[12] the passage money and return
[13] here on Wednesday to leave by
[14] the National line Steamer from
[15] Queenstown on Thursday
[16] I crave that line as being
[17] the cheapest and fastest.

[1] If you do not think it
[2] necessary for me to go to
[3] London before I leave please
[4] send me a card to that effect
[5] and I will write to Mr. Hutchinson
[6] for the money and you
[7] can forward the letters for
[8] the B[isho]p and Mr. Duncan
[9] not later than Tuesday.
[10] In heart
[11] Yours Very Sincerely
[12] Robt Tomlinson
[13] P.S. Please forward any letters
[14] which may be lying for me
[15] at Salisbury Square
