It must have been worrisome for Anna Lena Henricsdotter when her first husband died. To be living at his parents farm with here two young children while her mother was running her farm on her own. I’m sure it was a relief to get back to her mother when she married her second husband.
It is a tragedy, too, that she died before being able to see her own children grown. I see parallels here, where my own mother also died when her youngest child was three leaving six children to be raised. Perhaps this is why her story touches me.
